How to Add and Save YouTube Videos on ThinkHub Without Ads

By embedding the video using a modified URL, you can ensure that the video will play without ads when you reopen the canvas. You can also turn on autoplay. Here's how:

Why Embed YouTube Videos in ThinkHub?

Using the embed link to display YouTube videos ensures a clean, uninterrupted playback experience for your meetings, lessons, or presentations. It also loads the video at full-screen inside the Browser Window.

Here's how you can embed your YouTube videos in your ThinkHub Canvas:

  1. Find the YouTube Video

    • Open the YouTube video you want to add to ThinkHub in your browser.
    • Copy the video URL from the address bar (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=example).
  2. Modify the URL for Embedding

    • To remove ads, replace the part of the URL after youtube.com/ with embed/  followed by the video ID.
      • Example: If your original URL is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=example, the new URL will be:
        https://www.youtube.com/embed/example
  3. Add the Video to ThinkHub:

    • Using the T1V app, send the embed URL to ThinkHub.
      • If you don't have the T1V app, you can open a browser on your ThinkHub Canvas and type the modified embed URL into the ThinkHub browser address bar.
  4. Save the Canvas
  • Once the video is loaded and positioned where you want it on the Canvas, save the Canvas.
  • The next time you open this canvas, the embedded YouTube video will play without ads.

Optional Step 2: Set the Video to Autoplay

If you want your video to start playing automatically, you can add a quick modification to your URL.

  1. Add the Autoplay Parameter

  2. To enable autoplay, add ?autoplay=1 at the end of your embed URL.
    • Example: If your embed URL is https://www.youtube.com/embed/example modify it to:

  1. Test the Autoplay Feature

    • After updating the URL, paste it into the ThinkHub browser. The video should now load and begin playing automatically.
  2. Save the Canvas with Autoplay Enabled

    • Once the video is set to autoplay, save the canvas. Each time you open this Canvas, the video will start playing automatically.
